Continuing Professional Development For Pest Managers
Pest Control Training Seminars
2024 Seminars Postponed
It is with deep regret we have had to make the decision to postpone this years seminars to next year (2025).
Unfortunately numbers are too low to run these events economically and we have also had a number of cancellations which have made us realize that for some businesses the economic climate is just too tough at the moment for many to attend.
We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this causes.
If you have registered and paid to attend this years seminar, please contact us at pestnetwork@outlook.com for an immediate refund. Alternatively, we can hold and transfer your registration in anticipation of attending the program next year.
A suggestion has been made that we run our events every other year from the PMANZ National Conference (which is this year) and so we are seriously looking at that.
We again apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Who are we?
We are a New Zealand based Not For Profit training alliance which started in 2003, in response to concerns over the growing influence of overseas pest control manufacturers and distributors on the local pest control industry as well as the lack of un-biased high quality training locally. We have become the leading Continuing Education Provider for the Urban Pest Management sector. Hundreds of delegates from small to medium as well as multinational Pest Control businesses have been provided with the very best training and tools to remain compliant and professional for almost two decades.
What Do we Do?
We support and promote the Pest Management Association of NZ as foundation members. We make our industry smarter, safer and superior in terms of meeting legislative requirements, codes of practice, keeping up with the latest technologies and service standards. We do this by providing regional workshops/seminars at the major centres annually.
We have a range of quailied trainers, experts and guest speakers who are required to remain non-partisan during their presentations.
Each high-quality venue (at an easily accessible regional location) has the same daily program which will feature a range of topics. From insect workshops, legislation updates, business mentoring, supplier sessions as well as the opportunity for plenty of peer interaction. All delegates are assessed during the days program so that they can receive a Certificate Of Completion (rather than just a Certificate Of Attendance) which enables them to prove their commitment to continuing education and training. This is required by agencies such as Worksafe and other auditors on an annual basis.
Wanting to become a qualified UPM contractor to meet the EPA requirements?
To legally carry out Pest Control in NZ you must meet the legal requirements set out by the EPA and Worksafe. In order to do this you must have certain qualifications. To find out what they are and who provides them please go to: http://www.cleaningsystems.co.nz/training/ascend-nzqa/nzqa-certificate-in-pest-operations-level-3
Do You Also Require A Certified Handlers Certificate?
In some cases where you are using highly toxic pesticides (Class 6.1A & 6.1B), Worksafe will require you to hold a Certified Handlers Certificate, in addition to the qualifications above. CSL Ascend Training, the official course provider above will also be able to assist with this.
